Meet the President & CEO: Thais Pacheco

Ms. Thais Pacheco is a professional, entrepreneur, bilingual (English/Spanish) business woman with more than 25 years experience in business administration, public relations, marketing, advertising, project management and program development.

The Community Business Center serves as a small business incubator for the formation of for profit and non-profit micro/small businesses and organizations within the community. The leadership recently celebrated the grand opening of its first international branch in the Republic of Panamá. Long term plans include the extension of its Business Mentoring Program for high school and college level students, as well as, the organization of benevolence and medical missions throughout the region, which have already proven to be successful in the Central Florida Community.

Ms. Pacheco was born in Panamá City, Republic of Panamá. In spite of having moved to the United States at an early age, she has strong roots and a great love for the land where she was born. She is the proud mother of two children, Sabdy, a graduate of the University of Florida in Gainesville and Leonardo, Jr., a senior at the University of Central Florida, Orlando.

Highlights:

  • Preparation of income tax documents and community relations:
  • Pacheco directed the operations of an H & R Block branch, generating a quarterly revenue of more tan 300K.
  • Supervised tax preparation, providing financial guidance and establishing company programs.
  • Directed marketing and advertising strategies for 18 H & R Block branches within the district, managing and implementing the SCORE education program for tax professionals.
  • Throughout her consistent relationship with the community, provided consulting services in income tax and other company services.
  • Served as an executive within the Federal Government of the United States, Department of Defense, Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division, Orlando (NAVAIR).
  • Pacheco served as a Protocol and Public Relations Official, implementing a protocol process for the management and administration of VIPs, completing over 200 annual national and international visits.
  • Served on the command business development and branding team, while co-editing the newsletter, publications, and marketing materials.
  • Coordinated events as Public Relations liaison for a military division, generally resulting in 30,000 in attendance at the Armed Forces Day Parade and over 15,000 at the anual Interservice Industry Training Simulation and Education Conference (IITSEC).

Highlights:

  • As a Project Management Consultant, organized and directed corporate functions, conference and meeting planning, VIP tours, seminars, workshops, community outreach operations, overseas benevolence and medical missions, fundraisers, health fairs and community events. In addition, serves as liaison with overseas support organizations, organizing transportation, hotel, travel arrangements and executing requests for proposals, agendas and timelines.
  • Through diverse strategies, efficiently and effectively gained the participation of community organizations.
  • Established a business mentoring program and facilitated outreach efforts to improve processes, strengthen communication channels, increase job development, placement, productivity and community awareness in urban areas.
  • Served as substitute teacher in Orange and Seminole counties, at the elementary, middle and high school levels.
  • Worked as a volunteer for the U.S. Armed Forces, including, Army, Air Force, Navy Community Centers, Department of Education (Orange and Seminole Counties), religious organizations and the Central Florida Community.
